Katarzyna Nowak-Stańczyk
She graduated with distinction from Faculty of Vocal and Acting at Academy of Music in Łódź, in Professor Jadwiga Pietraszkiewicz’s class. At V year of her studies she was hired as a soloist at Grand Theatre in Łódź.
In 1989 she started working at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz. Her debut was Gilda in Verdi’s “Rigoletto”. In the same year she took part in International Vocal Competition in Bilbao (Spain) – she was a semifinalist. In 1991 in Amsterdam she performed the title role in Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor”.
She participated in many festivals:
She has a doctor’s degree – she got in 2003, by singing Violetta’s part in Verdi’s „Traviatta” at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz. Since then she is working at Opera Nova and Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. In 2013 she got a professor title from President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski.
During her career, Katarzyna Nowak–Stańczyk sang over 1200 spectacles.
She was awarded for her artistic path by: President of Zduńska Wola, President of Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal and Rector of Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. In 2015 she got decoration of honor “Meritorious for Polish Culture” from President of Poland.
