Dear Sir and Madam,
in the 2025/2026 season, The Nutcracker – a ballet choreographed by Paul Chalmer to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky – will return to the stage of Opera Nova.
The suspension of this title in 2022 from the repertoires of Polish theatres was a clear gesture of solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the face of brutal aggression from Russia, in accordance with the recommendation of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Today, our values remain unchanged. At the same time, we respect the voices of our audience, for whom The Nutcracker is above all a symbol of holiday magic. We understand that, regardless of the composer’s nationality, the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky touches hearts around the world and conveys a universal message of beauty, hope, and the childlike joy and belief in goodness that always prevails – a message that resonates especially strongly during the Christmas season.
