Janusz Żak

He graduated from Faculty of Vocal and Acting at Academy of Music in Gdańsk, in prof. Leszek Skrla’s class (2016). He also finished Vocal and Drama Studies at Music Theatre in Gdynia (2010). Moreover, he was learning playing guitar and contrabass in Music Schools I and II stages.

He is singing from the childhood. When he was 14 and 17 he took part in “The Chance for Success” (Polish TV Channel 2) – first he was awarded, then he won.

As an actor he performed at Music Theatre in Gdynia in musicals: “Francesco”, “My Fair Lady”, “Spamalot”, “Grease” and “Shrek”. During his opera studies he sang the title role in “Aleko” (2011), Betto in “Gianni Schicchi” (2013), Sarastro in “The Magic Flute” (2015), Greek and Hugo in “Eros and Psyche” (2015).

In 2014-15 he was working with International Choir Academy Lubeck and singing in Germany, China and Brazil.

Repertoire

Since 2016 he is a soloist at Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz. He was singing here those parts:

  • Speaker in “The Magic Flute” by Mozart
  • Colline in „La Boheme” by Puccini
  • Monk in „Don Carlos” by Verdi
  • Dulcamara in „L'elisir d'amore” by Donizetti
  • Zuniga in „Carmen” by Bizet
  • Jagu in „Manru” by Paderewski
  • Frank in „The Revenge of the Bat” by Strauss
  • Figaro in “Le nozze di Figaro" by Mozart (2017, dir. W. Adamczyk)

He is also singing in our New Year’s Concerts.
